My name is Christopher Carr and I have been living in Chicago for the past two years. I am currently looking for work within graphic arts (particularly theatre related), and continually seek opportunities to develop my skills as an artist. I am a quick learner and am always up to take on difficult challenges. Being involved with theatre (whether it be acting, directing, writing or designing a poster) I have learned over the years that I am a great collaborator. I understand the importance of teamwork and will incorporate other's ideas and viewpoints in order to preserve the work’s integrity in addition to the passion I have for the project. I am looking for an atmosphere that will ultimately allow me to expand my knowledge by learning new techniques, master new software, and to generate great new pieces of graphic art. Biography: In May 2007, I graduated Denison University, a liberal arts college in Granville, Ohio with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre Performance and a Minor in Studio Art. For my minor I kept a focus on Photography and took great interest in manipulating images, especially the ones I had taken, into works of graphic art. During my sophomore year, I felt the theatre department was lacking a focus in marketing, as the people who created the posters knew nothing about the shows or the actual productions. I took it upon myself to explore different means of advertising the shows and quickly became the go-to graphic designer for the theatre, music and film departments. While I had done some work within various academic areas, it was the theatre that grabbed my attention the most. The collaborative nature of all the artists on a production inspired all of my designs. I never created anything without obtaining scenic designs, costume designs, or the director's overall concept of the production. The works of art I have displayed here on this site are just snippets of my designing process. I am currently living in Chicago and have worked with multiple theatres/venues including Bailiwick, Remy Bumppo and Piccolo Theatres.
